WICHITA, Kan., Sept. 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Principled Consulting Services (PCS) recently announced the launch of the Growth Ceiling Diagnostic, a free executive assessment that helps companies with $5 million to $75 million in revenue identify the structural pattern most likely limiting their next stage of growth. The confidential assessment takes about 10 minutes and is the entry point to the firm’s ScaleReady System, a consultant-led engagement.

Participants receive a likely Growth Ceiling Archetype along with a directional readiness signal. The diagnostic does not produce the in-depth assessment created through the firm’s Growth Readiness Index. Its purpose is to help leaders identify the most likely constraint before they invest time and money in the wrong response.

The assessment is aimed at companies that need a more rigorous diagnosis than a broad coaching program can provide but cannot justify an enterprise-scale consulting engagement. Coaching can be too broad for the issues these businesses face, while enterprise consulting can be difficult to justify on cost, scope or pace.

Constraints of this kind rarely announce themselves clearly. A sales slowdown may trace back to decisions that still depend on the founder, and what appears to be a talent problem may come from roles that were never redesigned for a larger company. Rising revenue can mask thinning margins when pricing, cost-to-serve or capital decisions have not kept up.

Research covering 13,435 firms across 32 countries found that founder-CEO firms had the lowest average management-quality scores among ownership types, including lower scores in operations management. The finding points to a broad management pattern rather than a criticism of individual founders.

A similar concern is showing up in corporate governance. In the National Association of Corporate Directors’ 2026 Governance Outlook, 60% of directors said strategy-execution oversight was their leading area for improvement. Most respondents said they were spending more board time on strategy, while nearly half were developing growth-focused performance measures with management to spot execution problems sooner.

A paid scoping session follows only when the initial results and conversation indicate that a deeper structural issue may be worth examining. The more detailed work happens through the ScaleReady System, where a senior PCS advisor gathers and reviews documented quantitative and qualitative evidence across five core areas: financial discipline, talent and role fit, competitive position, leadership capacity, and organizational alignment. The formal Growth Readiness Index comes from that consultant-led review, not from the free assessment. The engagement carries a defined scope, fixed fees, and specific deliverables, and moves from diagnostics to scoping and evidence gathering, then to designing the operating structure the company needs and putting that structure into practice.

There is no cost to complete the Growth Ceiling Diagnostic, now available through Principled Consulting Services.
